Can e-Boekhouden.nl accept Bitcoin?

Not on its own, and the reason is worth looking at. e-Boekhouden.nl has been running since 2002 and has built one of the widest integration lists in Dutch bookkeeping software. On the payment side alone it connects to Mollie, MultiSafepay, Pay.nl, Tikkie, Adyen, Buckaroo, CardGate, CCV Pay, PayPal, Rabobank Smart Pay, Skrill, Worldline and a dozen more, with an MT940 import as the catch-all for anything not on the list. That is 24 payment service providers. Not one of them settles Bitcoin.

On the invoice itself you choose between iDEAL or Wero through a payment link, SEPA incasso, a QR code for clients banking with bunq, ING or Knab, or a plain bank transfer with your own payment instructions. Every one of those routes euros through a bank. e-Boekhouden.nl does not charge you for them, and says so: the per-transaction cost belongs to whichever external provider you connected. What is missing is not a feature nobody thought of. It is a rail that does not exist in the banking system, which is where payinbtc.me comes in.

payinbtc.me sits between e-Boekhouden.nl and the Bitcoin payment provider you choose. You connect both accounts once, and the connection to e-Boekhouden.nl is read-only: we read the invoice amount, currency and factuurnummer so the payment page shows the correct total, and we cannot create, change or delete anything in your administratie. When your client opens the Bitcoin link, we pull the invoice total from e-Boekhouden.nl and convert it to BTC at that moment's rate, then show a payment page with a QR code. They pay from any Bitcoin wallet, over the Lightning Network for near-instant settlement or on-chain for larger amounts. The Bitcoin arrives directly in your wallet or provider account. We never hold funds and we never take a percentage of an invoice.

The audience e-Boekhouden.nl has collected over two decades makes this more interesting than it sounds. Alongside zzp'ers and MKB companies, the platform is a common choice for verenigingen and stichtingen, for holdings, and for accountants running dozens of client administraties from one login. A payment method that does not check your legal form

e-Boekhouden.nl is used by plenty of verenigingen, stichtingen and small holdings, and those are exactly the entities that struggle to get a payment service provider through onboarding. Bitcoin has no application form. A treasurer can accept a contribution or a donation from a member abroad without a merchant account existing anywhere in the chain.

The 24 payment providers you can already connect stop at the euro

Mollie, Adyen, Buckaroo, Worldline and the rest all move euros through banks, and each takes its cut on the way. A Bitcoin payment does not use that infrastructure at all, so an invoice from a client outside the eurozone costs the same to collect as one from Amersfoort. That is the case a card rate cannot answer.

No. On an invoice you can offer iDEAL or Wero through a payment link, SEPA incasso, a bank QR code for bunq, ING and Knab users, or a bank transfer with your own instructions. Beyond that, e-Boekhouden.nl connects to 24 payment service providers including Mollie, Adyen, Buckaroo, Pay.nl, PayPal and Worldline, and none of them settles Bitcoin. payinbtc.me adds a Bitcoin payment option to your existing invoices without waiting for native support and without changing anything inside e-Boekhouden.nl.

Does payinbtc.me change anything in my administratie?

No. The connection is read-only. We read the invoice amount, currency and factuurnummer so the payment page shows the correct total, and that is the whole extent of it. We cannot create or edit facturen, post to your grootboek, touch your btw records, or see your bank couplings. If you manage several administraties, the connection applies only to the one you selected.

How does the Bitcoin amount stay accurate if the price moves?

The conversion happens when your client opens the payment page, not when you send the invoice. They see the exact euro total of your e-Boekhouden.nl factuur converted to BTC at that moment's rate, with a short validity window on the quote. If they let it expire, they get a fresh quote. You receive the full invoice value either way.

How do I reconcile a Bitcoin payment in e-Boekhouden.nl?

Today you do it yourself. We email you the moment the payment clears, and you mark the factuur as paid the same way you would for a transfer that came in outside a bank coupling. Because our access is read-only, we do not write anything into your administratie. Automatic reconciliation is on our roadmap and we will say so when it ships rather than before.

What about btw on an invoice paid in Bitcoin?

The invoice does not change. The total, the btw and the factuurnummer stay exactly as e-Boekhouden.nl recorded them, because Bitcoin is only the method your client used to settle a euro amount. Your btw-aangifte to the Belastingdienst runs as it always has. What does need a decision is how you record the Bitcoin you now hold and what happens when its value moves, which is a conversation for your accountant rather than for us.

What does it cost?

Pay per invoice at 1,500 sats, roughly 1.50 euros, charged only when a client actually pays in Bitcoin. Or take unlimited invoices at 2,500 sats a month, about 2.50 euros, or 25,000 sats a year. Your first month is free, with three free invoices on the pay-per-use plan. We never take a percentage of a payment. Your Bitcoin provider may charge its own fee, and BTCPay Server charges none because it is software rather than a processor.

I use e-Boekhouden.nl for a vereniging or stichting. Does this work for us?

Yes, and it is one of the clearer cases for it. Associations and foundations often find that payment service providers ask questions their structure does not answer neatly, and onboarding stalls.
